Description: James Slight was a prominent engraver in the 19th century, known for his detailed work on maps of Australia, particularly Victoria. One of his notable contributions is the map titled Victoria: Showing Portions of the Adjacent Colonies of New South Wales, South Australia, and Tasmania. This map was compiled and engraved at the Department of Lands and Survey in Melbourne under the direction of A.J. Skene, M.A., Surveyor General, with Slight serving as the engraver.
